FinTech Connect 2022 unveils its Startup Launch Pad and ‘FinTech For Good’ documentary ahead of the industry gathering.
The fintech event is returning on an in-person basis next week at London’s ExCel Centre. Running from 30 November to 1 December, FinTech Connect 2022 brings 3,000 industry experts together with the latest innovations.
Themes include the metaverse, digital transformation, web 3.0, open banking, the impact of artificial intelligence (AI), crypto and decentralised finance (DeFi).
Attendees will hear market insights and perspectives from more than 120 speakers at over 70 sessions, keynote panel discussions and interactive debates. The agenda also includes 30 dedicated tech demos, showcasing the latest transformational solutions that are reshaping the global payments landscape.
The event’s sponsors include Discover Global Network, J.P. Morgan, Finaro, FIS Worldpay, Polymesh, Jumio, Enfuce and Enkata.
In preparation, the event has announced the launch of both a startup launch pad and its ‘FinTech For Good’ documentary.
The Startup LaunchPad
Recognising the role of startups in the growth of the ecosystem, this year’s event incorporates the Startup Launch Pad stage. The stage will run for both days of the event.
Featuring CEOs and founders, including Greenomy, Grape and Fidentity, the stage will showcase the industry’s socio-economic and technological trends. Topics include ESG objectives, fintech in humanitarian aid and the future of data sharing.
The stage will host Alex Bornyakov, deputy minister of digital transformation for Ukraine on 1 December. During ‘Digitisation During the War’, Bornyakov plans to outline how digital technologies have assisted the country amid the Russian invasion.
The stage is also hosting FINTECH Circle‘s pitching competition. The competition will see five startups presenting innovative propositions to a panel of angel investor judges. The companies pitching are:
- FXGuard – a F/X risk mitigation service
- Seccl tech – a custodian and investment technology provider;
- Unmai – a ‘better AI platform’;
- Kyp.io – a know-your-customer (KYC) risk intelligence platform;
- 21e6.io – a Swiss investment advisor.
Presented and moderated by Susanne Chisti, CEO of FINTECH Circle, startups have just five minutes to present their business
This is followed by a five-minute Q&A where they will be grilled by judges. Judges include Carol Hagh, FTSE non-executive director at Chesnara, Michael Mellinghoff, Judge FINTECH Circle and Fintech Germany Award, Techfluence UK and Brendan Bradley, chairman of iPushPull.
‘Fintech for Good’ Documentary
FinTech Connect 2022 is to screen the premiere of the ‘FinTech For Good’ documentary, produced by FINTECH Circle and ITN Business.
The documentary will spotlight industry innovations that are making positive changes in people’s lives.
It features contributions from Dan Andrews of Vitesse, Peter Michel Heilmann of Reltime, Antony Green of Policy Expert and Gilbert Verdian of Quant.
“We’re delighted to host the world premiere, which will illustrate just how vital fintech solutions are in promoting financial inclusion and solving real-life challenges,” says Laurence Coldicott, the event’s senior content director.
Coldicott describes the event as “the place to be for anyone who wants to know what the future holds for fintech.”
“This event is about showing what fintech means for the people who interact with it, and the benefits innovation can bring,” he concludes.
